Optimizing a website for a keyword phrase in 2025
It doesn't matter if you are selling, blogging, providing recipes or you are a bricks and mortar business - every page on your site is part of a whole and that whole is important.
It doesn't matter if you are selling, blogging, providing recipes or you are a bricks and mortar business - every page on your site is part of a whole and that whole is important.
Visit yourself
Imagine your website as a department store. It might have things to sell or it might have content to be consumed for other reasons.
As a human we think "the larger the store, the more likely it is to have what I want" and that's true for how search engines think about websites.
But if we walk into the store and see it is full of rubbish then it doesn't matter how big it is, we'll leave.
Structure is everything
But even if you have a whole lot of content (a large store), if the lay out is confusing you won't be a success.
If I asked you "where are the coats" and you said "there are some over there, some are here, some are on the upper floor" ... I'll probably leave!
If you said, "I've only got two coats" .. then I'll probably leave.
