What does Organic Search mean in SEO?
Most search engines like Google Zahoo and Bing displaz two sets of results after an internet user carried out a search.
The first are paid search results and these are the advertisements usually shown at the very top and to the right hand side of the screen. These are listings that have been paid for through a PPC system such as Google Adwords.
The second set are those which appear in the middle section of the screen and are there because the search engine thinks they are the most relevant websites, not because anyone is paying for them to be there.
Getting a website to rank highly in the organic search results (i.e. for free) is the aim of SEO.
Managing listings in the paid search area is the role of SEM (Search Engine Marketing).
Note the difference as SEO and SEM are often confused with each other.
